Why Connect Thryv to Slack
Connecting Thryv to Slack puts new leads in front of your team the moment they come in, right inside the tool they already use to communicate. Here is what the connection does for you:
Leads show up where your team already talks. Each qualifying lead is posted as a message to a Slack channel you choose, so nobody has to open Thryv or check a dashboard to know a new lead came in.
Only strong leads reach your channel. Leads are filtered by score before they're posted, so your channel fills up with real opportunities, not noise.
Full context lands in the message. Contact details, AI Score, AI Sentiment, and call or form context are all included directly in the Slack message, so your team can act without switching tools.
Fast delivery. Qualifying leads are posted to Slack within about 30 seconds of coming in, so your team can follow up while the prospect is still engaged.
You control the destination. You choose which Slack channel receives your leads, and you can change the destination channel at any time without disconnecting or reconnecting the connection.
How to Connect Thryv to Slack
What You Need Before Connecting Slack
To connect Thryv to Slack, you need:
An active Thryv account with AI Lead Scoring enabled, since Slack messages include each lead's AI Score and AI Sentiment.
A Slack workspace you have permission to install apps into. Installing the Thryv app requires Slack workspace admin approval, depending on your workspace's app permissions.
Connect Your Accounts
Follow these steps in order to connect Thryv to Slack:
Click Settings in the lower left corner. Then click Integrations. Find Slack, and click Connect.
A pop-up will appear prompting you to sign in to your Slack workspace and approve the permissions Thryv is requesting.
Once you're signed in, select the Slack channel that should receive your leads from a live list of the channels in your workspace.
Once you complete these steps, the connection is active and Thryv begins posting qualifying leads to your selected Slack channel in near real time.
What Happens After You Connect Slack
Once the connection is active, it runs in the background. You do not start a sync or move any data by hand. Here is what happens to each lead:
Thryv watches for new leads. When a new lead comes in, Thryv checks the lead's score against the filtering rule described in "Which Leads Are Sent to Slack" before posting anything to Slack.
A message is posted to your channel. For each qualifying lead, Thryv builds a formatted message containing the lead's contact details, AI Score, AI Sentiment, and call or form context, and posts it to your selected Slack channel.
You work the lead in Slack. Your team sees the lead the moment it lands and can start follow-up directly from the conversation in Slack.
Which Leads Are Sent to Slack
Not every lead is posted to Slack. The connection filters leads by score so your channel shows strong prospects instead of noise. By default:
Leads scored 3 or higher are sent to Slack. These are your qualified, high-intent prospects.
Unscored leads are sent to Slack. A lead that has not yet received a score is still passed through so the lead is not lost.
Leads scored 1 or 2 are held back. Low-scored leads are not posted to Slack, keeping low-quality prospects out of your team's channel.
What Information Is Sent to Slack
When a lead is posted to Slack, the message includes:
First and last name
Email address
Phone number
AI Score — a 1–5 rating of how likely the lead is to convert, based on call content. See "How are leads scored?" in the FAQ below for details.
AI Sentiment [[NEEDS DEFINITION — not defined anywhere in the source article. Add a one-sentence definition here before publishing, parallel to how AI Score is defined above.]]
Call summary or transcript, and key notes, when available
Form submission details, when applicable
Changing Your Slack Destination Channel
You can change which Slack channel receives your leads at any time.
To update your destination, open the Integrations Directory, find Slack, and open its settings. Select a new channel from the list of channels in your workspace. There's no need to disconnect and reconnect the connection — the change takes effect immediately, and future leads are posted to the new channel.
How to Check or Disconnect Your Slack Connection
You manage the connection from the Integrations Directory in Thryv at any time.
To check the connection, open the Integrations Directory in Thryv and find Slack. The Integrations Directory shows whether Slack is currently connected, along with your connected workspace, destination channel, and last-sync activity.
To disconnect, open the Integrations Directory, find Slack, and uninstall the connection. Disconnecting stops new leads from posting to Slack and revokes Thryv's access to your Slack workspace. Messages that have already been posted to your Slack channel are not affected when you disconnect — disconnecting removes the connection, not your message history.
FAQ
How are leads scored?
ThryvAI listens to calls received on your tracked phone numbers from your Thryv program. It listens for "Intent Signals" during the call, such as asking for a quote, mentioning an emergency, or discussing a specific service. It then weighs these signals to determine if the lead is high-priority (Hot) or just an inquiry (Warm). ThryvAI assigns a numerical score to the lead based on the conversation. Scores range from 1 through 5. Use the lead score to prioritize your follow-ups so you invest your marketing time into the leads most likely to convert. Here is how the score is calculated:
5 - Client booked an appointment or made a purchase.
4 - Productive conversation about services, even if no sale or appointment was made. May include quotes or contact info exchange.
3 - Existing customer calling about past work, questions, or to reschedule. Or, minimal interest with no contact info shared.
2 - Wrong-fit leads (e.g., outside service area, competitor research) with no clear interest.
1 - Spam, sales calls, wrong numbers, unintelligible voicemails, or no clear customer intent.

Can I send leads to more than one Slack channel?
Not at this time. Each Thryv account can send leads to one destination channel. You can change which channel that is at any time, but routing different leads to different channels isn't supported yet.
Does this connection create or update anything in Slack besides the message itself?
No. This is a one-way, message-only connection. This connection does not create Slack records, edit previously posted messages when lead data changes later, or use interactive Slack features like buttons or threaded replies.
Does this connection send Slack data back into Thryv?
No. This is a one-way connection from Thryv to Slack. This connection does not read messages from your Slack workspace or pull any Slack data back into Thryv.
What happens if I remove the Thryv app from my Slack channel or workspace?
If the destination channel is deleted, or if the Thryv app is removed from the Slack workspace, message delivery will fail and you'll see an error in the Integrations Directory. If the app is uninstalled from the Slack side entirely, delivery stops until you reconnect.
Will I lose messages already posted to Slack if I disconnect?
No. Disconnecting stops new leads from posting and revokes Thryv's access to your Slack workspace, but messages already posted to your channel are not affected.
