If you are here reading this, you may already know what an RSS Feed is, and maybe you just want to know how to use it with our Thryv Social Feature.
We would still like to address some basics about RSS Feeds up front, just in case you are wondering. (Don't worry, we won't tell anyone you didn't know!)
What is an RSS Feed?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes content to a wide number of people. It is used by computer programs that organize those headlines and notices for easy reading.
How Do I Use an RSS Feed with Thryv?
If you have access to the Social Feature in Thryv, you can create a sort of "posting plan" to share RSS content to your channels. Below, we show you how:
From your Social Content tab in Thryv, click on the RSS Feed button:
In the next window, select "Add New Subscription":
Add in your RSS Feed Title, Feed URL, and a Default Message, indicated in the red boxes below. Note: Your RSS Feed may pre-populate some of these boxes. You have the ability to change them.
Once you have populated the fields, you can move onto posting to your social platforms. You will need to select "Auto-Post" to show your connected platforms to be selected. Choose a time for the RSS feed to post, or choose to post at a Peak Time. Note: Peak time only refers to Facebook, and is for pages with 25 page likes or more only. Select "Override Client Approval" & "Override Admin Approval" for all content to automatically post without being reviewed. Select "Save", and you are ready to rock n' roll with RSS!
