Even when you're on a job site, you have full control over your staff access. Command Center gives you the ability to select which staff members get access to each channel on an individual basis. You can also grant access on a Read-Only basis, and customize it for each channel and staff member.
To get started, tap the Settings Icon from any screen in Command Center
Then, scroll down to Security + Permissions and tap Connect Channels
Then, tap Manage
From here, you are able to customize the permissions for each channel. To customize a channel's permissions, tap the Shared Permissions drop-down, and each of your staff will appear.
Tap the drop-down for each staff member to toggle their access level. Each staff member can have different access levels for different channels.
- Read/Write - This user can both view and send messages that are in this channel
- Read Only - This user can view all messages both sent and received in this channel, however they are not able to send
- No Access - This user can not view or send messages in this channel, they can not interact through this channel in any way
FAQ
If my staff member is communicating with a client, but then the client reaches out through a channel that my staff member doesn't have access to, how can I help them continue the conversation?
In Command Center, staff are assigned channels rather than clients or conversations. For this reason, in the event this happens, you would need to grant that staff member permission to that channel to see those messages.
Who is able to connect or disconnect a channel?
All staff members are able to connect or disconnect channels.
If I grant permission to a channel to a staff member, would they be able to see the full history, or only conversations going forward?
They would have full permission to the conversation history on that channel.
If I grant permission for a channel to my staff member for an inbox that I manage (Gmail, Yahoo, etc) and they respond to a customer, would it appear that response is coming from me?
Yes, it would come from the same “from” email that inbox normally uses.
